How AI is Changing Recruitment

We are often asked by tech talents how we are using Artificial Intelligence to match them to the best jobs. Let’s jump straight to how AI is filling the gap in the tech recruitment

The job market space is advancing at lightning speed, with demand for qualified candidates ever increasing; and the recruitment industry needs to evolve to keep up. So, what can we do in this fast-changing market to meet the demands?

HireFirst has the answer.

First of all, we need to give an overview of what a traditional job search looks like. If you use job boards and other search tools to comb the internet for candidates or jobs, you’re using a keyword-based approach.

Let’s say you are looking for a Python job in Paris. You will find at least 3,000 results using a typical recruiting site. The reason why is that Python can be used in many different ways and environments, and for completely different projects. Web Developers use Python to build applications from low to high-end. DevOps Engineers use Python to build data visualisations and to improve their workflow with custom utilities. Data Scientists will write Python code to create models.

The main problem with these sites is that they just read the key words: they can’t tell the difference between the specific Python languages. This means they will show jobs that won’t be well-suited to what the person is actually looking for.

In order to differentiate between the specific uses of Python, technology needs to be able to read and understand the natural language which CVs and job specs contain. It needs to analyse words in context and also understand subtle differences in meaning.

This is what our AI can do.

At HireFirst, we’ve built a deep learning AI recruitment platform that properly understands these differences; and can accurately match the right kind of job to the right IT/Data professional.

Sebastien, co-founder says:

“We want to ensure our AI will match candidates and jobs based on the industry sector, company size and project environment (e.g. R&D, project from scratch, migration). It goes beyond human assumptions and psychological barriers.”

Reynald, co-founder added:

“AI increase opportunities to find better jobs by understanding a person’s career expectations and motivations. AI should help people find jobs where they will be happier and more successful”.

In addition to the benefits of our AI platform, we also provide a human-centered approach where you can benefit from the expertise of a dedicated Talent Coach, but that’s another story for another article… coming soon.
